Enter into the deep prayer-time of Holy Week through the writing of the icon of St. Mary Magdalene, a woman who accompanied Jesus through his ministry, suffering and death and announced the Resurrection to the apostles. The basic techniques of iconography and an introduction to the theology and spirituality of the icon will be addressed. Each participant will complete an icon using acrylic paints and gold leaf. We will take a new look at the Enneagram map and explore the motivation of the nine types. We will learn how our type keeps us on automatic and asleep to our lives and discover specific strategies for waking up to our deeper selves. When we wade into the water of a "holy pause" we can shift the contracted energy that sustains our compulsions into a more expanded energy that allows our compassion and spiritual qualities to arise. We will explore the "vice to virtue conversion" and the role of the body's wisdom in this process.
